KIDS KORNER:

Talmales Sales: Just when I thought we couldn't out do ourselves from the previous years sales of our great tasting tamales, you surprised me once again. We sold 305 tamales, and with the help of Jane Morefield and Amy Fechner we got all of them wrapped for delivery. We hope you enjoyed eating them just like my family has; and my husband is grateful that the smell of tamales is finally out of my car.

Operation Gratitude:The children will be busy again in writing letters to our troops in Iraq, and they will be sending Scott Olson some special letters. Marilyn Schafer, has some special Girl Scout cookies to be mailed as well. There is additional information in the lobby.

Easter: Thanks for all the candy and special treats we were able to pack in our baskets for the kids; and the donations of money to help buy the baskets and other items to stock in them. We also sent twelve baskets down to the Church at the Lake.

Youth News:

  • Ryan Reed, our new youth pastor will begin to meet with the youth on May 24, after graduation from Hope International. He has begun working in the office on Monday mornings. In the meantime, we are so grateful for:
  • Bryan Fleming leading the Wednesday night Youth Group here at CCH from 7-8:30 p.m.
  • Sunday morning Bible Study continuing to be led by Chris Miuccio.

Watch for things in the mail.

Memorial Day

Memorial Day

May 29th: Remember to thank those who have served in our military!

Say "hello" to Scott in Iraq

Scott Olson is currently serving our country in the US Marine Corps. He is deployed in Iraq and will remain for seven months. He is currently stationed in a town near the Syrian border. It is a very difficult assignment and there is NO electricity and no running water. All the meals are the MRE (Meals Ready to Eat). Scott rarely has computer or internet access. All communication will need to be through the mail. And care packages are appreciated as well. It takes several weeks to get anything from the States, but that would certainly brighten his day!! He loves beef jerky, baby wipes (to help clean up), tuna, all kinds of snack items which are not heat sensitive including chips, non-chocolate candy and canned goods. Letters and packages can be sent to:

LCPL OLSON, SCOTT T
1/7 ALPHA CO. 2ND PLT.
UNIT 41520
96426-1520
FPO AP

See Randy Olson or Andrew for any other details. MOSTLY—the troops need your prayers!
