Kids Korner

Happy Turkey Month everyone!

We have a lot to talk about in the children's ministry this month. First, I want to thank the incredible volunteers and people who donated pumpkins and candy for the Halloween Carnival. It was a huge success and I could have never done it without you. I especially want to thank Steve Lewis and Miguel Tabares for their amazing work and commitment. Thank you all for your hard work.

Pathfinders is continuing their series on Men of the Old Testament through the end of the month. Our Wednesday night group is taking a break until the new year and being replaced with a monthly activity. This month we are planning a trip to a local soup kitchen to serve those less fortunate. The tentative date is Saturday, November 18th at the Los Angeles Mission near downtown. The date and location are tentative so keep your eyes open for any changes. Also, parents are encouraged to attend.

Parents will also be receiving a questionnaire regarding what we would like to see happen in the ministry and what changes we can make. So, keep your eyes open for that as well.

Have a wonderful month everyone. And, always remember the things you are most thankful for all year long.

—Amber

Youth News

by Ryan Reed

Hey All,

It’s crazy how fast this year is going by. I can’t believe that I have already been here for almost 6 months, it’s been a blur. Well, as this season is wrapping up and we are getting closer to the Winter (even though it’s still 90 degrees outside) we have some great events coming up.

First off we have a Lock-In on December 1 st. This is for both Jr. High and High School, it’s going to be an awesome time of getting no sleep and doing crazy stuff so be sure to bring some friends.

Secondly, we have our Winter camps. On January 26-29, we have the High School Ski Trip to Mammoth. We are going with several churches from the area including Christian Church of Thousand Oaks, and Newbury Park First Christian Church, it should be a great time of worship, fellowship and falling down a mountain.

And on February 2-4 we have our Jr. High Winter Camp at Angeles Crest. It’s going to be a great weekend of fellowship with other churches and getting into God’s word, topped off with some fun in the snow. I hope to have all of you participate in this. For more details please contact me.

Blessings, Ryan

Word from the Elders

by Chris Miuccio

Hello fellow church members and friends!

Greetings from the Elder board. This is our first entry in the newsletter and we are excited to have the opportunity to begin communicating with you on a more regular basis!

Just to clarify, our current board consists of myself as Chairman, Dave Fleming as Vice Chairman, Dave George as Secretary, Dave Leese, Randy Olson, Doug Schafer and Mike Hemphill. In case you did not know, this December Dave George and Mike Hemphill will have completed their 3 year terms as Elders so a big thank you to Dave and Mike for their faithful service!

A committee meeting for the nomination of new Elders has been completed and we will be contacting the nominees shortly. Our annual church business meeting is scheduled in December, at which time we will have the opportunity to confirm the nomination of the men who have accepted to become an elder.

We have had some ups and downs this year, but believe the Lord has guided our decisions and we are grateful for the diversity we have. We are thankful for the amazing work our staff does week in and week out so "thank you" to Lori, Ryan, Amber and our Master Pastor, Dave Crouse. We'd also like to thank our many faithful volunteers who are such a blessing and inspiration to us all!

May the Lord bless each one of you richly and may He help keep your eyes fixed on Jesus and heaven in 2007!

In HIS service, Chris Miuccio, Chairman
