Greetings CCH Family!!
It’s now the Christmas season and the excitement over the celebration of the birth of the Savior is growing. I love this season and I look forward to focusing on the coming of the Messiah to this world in our worship services.
As I read the Christmas story in the book of Luke, there are two sentences that I think are important. First in Luke 2:17 it says that the shepherds, after visiting Jesus in Bethlehem, “spread the word concerning what had been told them about the child”. I hope during this Christmas season, you will take it upon yourself to “spread the word” about Jesus. Maybe it will be an invitation to someone to come to church with you. Maybe it will be just a comment to a co-worker about the importance of Jesus in your life.
The second sentence is found in verse 20 where Luke writes that after seeing Jesus, the shepherds “returned glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen”. I hope you will make every effort to see the importance of coming to Sunday worship services this month in order to praise God for all you have seen and heard about Jesus! There is no greater time when our heavenly Father deserves to be praised than this time in which we celebrate the wonderful gift of His Son to this world. I hope you’ll join me as we praise Him together during this season over the good news of great joy…”a Savior has been born to you, he is Christ, the Lord!”
Merry Christmas,
Pastor Dave
