Kids Korner

by Amber George

Happy New Year everyone!!!

I am so glad we are in the new year and ready to start off fresh. I have to first thank everyone for helping my family and me get through the end of last year. Pat took over the ministry for me while I was with Faith and I could not have continued the ministry without her. Also, thank you to all the teachers: the Barretts, Judy Leese, Doug Schafer and Dani Crouse who kept everything running smoothly. Also, I want to thank everyone who visited us at the hospital, brought or sent gifts, and especially for all your prayers. We couldn't have made it through without you. Thank you.

Now that I am back we have a lot to do. Hopefully, later this month we will be starting up our mid-week bible study. Maybe even on a new day or new time. When that is decided, we will be kicking off our first meeting with a special secret event. Something the kids will love. We will also be starting a new curriculum in the Pathfinders group for our Sunday and mid-week study.

Last but not least, I have to mention CHOCOLATE!!! Valentine's day will be here before you know it and you can't forget something sweet for your sweetie. The annual Valentine's candy fundraiser will be taking orders later this month so keep your eyes (and tummies) open for that.

Are you growing?

Youth News

by Ryan Reed

Hey Everyone,

It’s the start of a New Year and 2007 is going to be great. The Youth are starting off the year with some great adventures. The high school students are going to be taking a trip to Mammoth Mountain on January 26-29! So, if you haven’t already registered, and are interested in going, talk to me and we may be able to work something out.

Also the Jr. Highers are going to Angeles Crest Christian Camp for Winter Camp on February 2-4. Both trips are going to be great.

And, for Wednesday nights and Sunday mornings we are starting a new series called Deeper Walk and Tougher Questions. We are going to be discussing the following issues:

  • January 9 th- Why the Bible? / Does God speak outside the Bible?
  • January 17 th – Do good people go to Hell?
  • January 24 th – Does the Bible contradict Evolution?
  • January 31 – Do I have to go to church?

Each Wednesday night we will go over the question in depth and then on Sunday mornings we will have a follow up discussion.

I hope you are all as excited for this New Year as I am.

Blessings,

Ryan
