Kids Korner

by Amber George

Easter is almost here. It is a wonderful time to look back and celebrate Jesus’ resurrection! But, it is also time to look back and see what the bunny left (for the kids at least). On Easter Sunday we will be having a full on party with dessert, movie, crafts and, of course… an Easter egg hunt. All children are welcome so don’t forget to invite a friend.

The kids have been learning so much at Sunday school about how to live for God day to day in the lesson series they just finished about Serving God. In April the kids will be learning even more with new lessons.

  • On April 15: God’s Forgiveness Gift,
  • April 22: Help – I’m Scared!
  • and on April 29: Follow First, Ask Questions Later.

On Wednesday’s Pathfinders meeting, the kids are continuing their lessons about people from the Bible. The kids chose which people they would like to learn about. This month they will look at Abraham, Dorcas and Moses. And, I want to thank Miss Pat who has been teaching on Wednesday nights while I help out with the youth group. Thank you so much Pat. The kids are having a great time with Miss Kitty in art class the last Wednesday of the month. In March, they learned about perspective and made wonderful drawings of the three bears in hot air balloons.

Some great news… TAMALES ARE HERE!!! Pick up your tamales on Palm Sunday or anytime after that. They are delicious and you no longer have to
wait.

Also, on April 28th is the all church movie night. It will be a great family night and a great time to invite friends. The children will have a great time. So, put it on your calendars and…

HAPPY EASTER

Youth News

by Amber George

Well, this is kind of weird writing a newsletter article for both ministries. But, I am happy to do it. As I’m sure you all know I am helping out as the Interim Youth Pastor until the church finds a replacement for Ryan. The first couple of weeks have been great. I’ve been having a great time and I think the youth have too.

Things have been changing in the youth ministry. The biggest change is the youth room. It had a minor facelift and it looks really good. The kids really like it too. Steve, Reign, and Drew Lewis all worked very hard to make that room what it is. Thank you guys so much. It looks awesome. And, everyone feel free to come by and take a look.

On March 31st the kids are having a pizza party at church and then heading off to play laser tag in Camarillo. The event goes from 12:00-3:30 p.m. The cost is $15. Anyone who wants to come needs a permission slip and to be at CCH on Saturday.

With Palm Sunday and Easter coming up there have been some changes to the Sunday morning classes. On April 1st and 8th all youth will be staying in the service to hear the Easter messages from Pastor Dave.

Also, I want to thank Chris Miuccio for teaching on Sunday mornings. He has been great working with the youth and we are so grateful for all he does for the church. Thank you Chris.
