Postponed…. From August 4th until September 16th
Fall Kickoff Sunday!!
We have decided to postpone the Hot Summer Night event because so many of you are out of town and unavailable on August 4th. We have rescheduled this with comedian Nick Arnette for our Fall Kickoff event on Sunday, September 16th, from 5:00—7:00 p.m.
We will honor your tickets purchased for the August date on September 16th—or we will be out front this Sunday and willing to trade your tickets for the payments you made. Please plan to be here in September—and invite your friends!!!
Encouraging Words
by Pastor Dave
Hello Everyone,
This past Wednesday, our church staff spent the day planning for the fall season and beyond into 2008. We feel God is calling us to use the resources we have at CCH and reach out to those around us who might be in need. We believe it is time to start participating in more community outreach ministry opportunities.
Our focus for the next year will be based on the challenge Paul gave to the church in Philippi when he wrote,
“ Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.” (Philippians 2:4)
The question is, “How can CCH looking to the interests of others in the community?” That is what we hope to explore so that not only will Christ’s words be declared but that His love might be felt in a very real and powerful way.
One Christian leader said it this way, “If your church picked up and left how would the city feel? Would anybody even notice?” If we are not making a difference in the lives of those around us, then perhaps we’ve missed the point of what God has called us to do. Christ did not come into our lives just to make us better but also to give us the power to make the world a better place through our ministry and service to others!
I’m looking forward to the journey, Pastor Dave

Elders Corner
As your board of Elders, we are committed to using Jesus Christ as our model in treating our congregation, our staff, our Pastors and our resources as He would, with dignity and respect. In the most recent Elder meeting the question was posed, "Are we doing enough for our congregation?". Upon discussion, we realized rather quickly this is a question only YOU, a member of our congregation, can answer.
So, this month, we would like to ask a favor of you. Would you please ask
yourself: *"In what ways can the Elder board better serve the needs of the congrega- tion?" Your solution may be as simple as having us give monthly "The Current State of the Church" updates in the worship service ...or something of a more personal nature. Your answers can be anonymous and placed in our suggestion box (located in the church lobby) or you can phone or email us. Our goal is to serve the congregation in the best way possible. Thank you for being a part of the CCH family!
Sincerely, Your board of Elders
