Upcoming events and ministry opportunities this summer...

Question and Answer Night — postponed due to so many of CCH’s members being out of town on August 4-5th.

Angel Café —lunch after church, Sunday, August 12th. If you’ve never joined us, this is a great time of fun and fellowship at a nice Italian restaurant nearby. Why not plan to be there..

Community Car Wash — Saturday, August 18th in the morning from 9:00 to 12:00. It was fun and fulfilling last summer to wash cars for the community with no expectations or fees. They were truly grateful. Please plan to be here for part or all of this outreach event. There are lots of things you can do.

Beach Day — NEW DATE Sunday, August 26th . The plan is to bring your lunch and meet at a local beach to enjoy the afternoon together after church. We’ll have water bottles to hand out to people around us on the beach as a community service project.

Fall Kickoff —planned for Sunday, September 16th

Prayer Day — tentatively planned for Saturday, September 22.

Youth News

Friday August 10th there will be a LOCK-IN that starts at 7 p.m. please contact Brett for more information, BRING YOUR FRIENDS! POSTPONED, SEE BRETT FOR NEW DATE.

Thursday August 16th there will be an event... this is called the “ unknown”, contact Brett for more information (information about the event will be revealed as time goes on).

August 8th the youth band will begin playing on Wednesday nights, please don't miss out on this great worship experience.

Attention congregation there is a need to be met! A head counselor, who blessed our youth while up at camp, is in need and I am encouraging our congregation to meet that need. Amanda P. is a on-fire Christian who graduated college with a BA in pastoral ministries and is looking to go into the ministry. Obeying God she ventured out to the camp this summer and has been doing ministry since. She feels God calling her to the next step, but in order to get there she needs a place to stay. Knowing her personally, I can say that she is a blessing to be around, please contact Brett for more information.

If you’d like to let your creative juices flow and help energize our worship services with new innovative and creative ideas, please see Chris Miuccio. We are forming a ministry team to help plan the services in advance on a monthly basis.

Kids Korner

The Children’s ministry has been very busy this summer. We have already been to the movies, to Fo-Fo Figgily’s, atomic bowling and we just went to Knott’s Soak City with the youth group. We have had a ton of fun and there is still more to come.

Our next summer event is the one the kids have been waiting for. On Wednesday, August 8th we will be having the Mega-Monopoly tournament right here at CCH. The event will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. And, the best part is… there is no cost for this event.

And, on Wednesday, August 22nd we will have our last summer event at Mountasia . There the kids will play mini-golf, laser tag, arcade games and much more. We will meet at CCH at 3:00 and be back at the church at 8:00 p.m. The cost for this event is TBA. So, keep your eyes open.

The kids are continuing their Sunday school lessons in the Old Testament. They have already learned about Samson, Ruth, and Gideon to name a few. This month they will be learning about Samuel, Saul, David and Solomon. The kids have been testing their artistic abilities with this new curriculum, so ask to see their drawings based on the lesson.

Also, on Saturday, August 18th CCH will be hosting the 2nd annual Free Community Car Wash from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. We need everyone’s help for this, including all the kids. It was a great success last year and we hope to show God’s love and serve even more people this year. The Children’s ministry will be having a Bake Sale fundraiser during the car wash to help fund the Halloween Carnival later this year. I will be calling parents in the next couple weeks asking to donate some baked goodies.

Don’t forget… CCH Beach Day on Sunday, August 26th.

Also, thank you everyone for your prayers for Jenna Prieger. Jenna, we were so glad to see you at church already and to know that you are doing so well. No climbing trees!

Berniece B.—Undergoing chemo therapy. Please pray for her comfort and for healing.

Brad A. — update: he had prostate cancer and had surgery which he is now recovering from.

Loretta H.—pray for healing of infection.

Natalia’s daughter —pray that she will get a visa to come to the US from the Ukraine.

Lynn S. —pray for Marietta who has stage 4 cancer; and Lynn’s daughter who is separated and may possibly go through a divorce.

Vacations —pray that all of our friends that are traveling this summer will have safe trips and be back with us soon.
