Kids Korner

by Amber George

The kids have gone back to school and it is a million degrees outside. That must mean that fall is almost here. And, on September 16 th we have our Fall Kick-off ! With the new school year coming up that means changes are happening in the Children’s Ministry.

At Fall Kick-off the kids will be starting their new Sunday School program . The biggest change will be the structure of classes. The preschool will continue their class with all students ages 1-5. The elementary school students will be broken up into two classes. The Kindergarten – 3 rd grade will meet together and the 4 th – 5 th grade will have there own class.

The K-3 rd class will be starting a new curriculum, DiscipleLand Core Bible . We will be starting with the Level 3 program entitled “ Serving the King ”. The 4 th – 5 th class will start the school year going through a devotional book based on the movie “Napoleon Dynamite” . The book is entitled “ Taming a Liger: Unexpected Spiritual Lessons from Napoleon Dynamite ”.

And. On Wednesday, September 19 th we will be having our first mid-week bible study of the year as part of The Mix. All grades K-5 th are invited to join us for this study. We will also be having our last Bible Bucks store ever . So kids, be prepared to buy prizes with the bible bucks you’ve already accumulated. The kids will meet at 7:00 – 8:30 p.m.

The teacher’s meeting is also rescheduled for Sunday, September 9 th after church service. All teachers and anyone that would like to volunteer in the children’s ministry needs to be at this meeting to go over all the changes for this coming year.

At Fall Kick-off the children’s ministry will start their last fundraiser of the year. This fundraiser will benefit the 5 th annual Halloween Carnival to help make it bigger and better than ever. The kids will be handing out coin banks for everyone to take home until the end of October. Please collect any loose change you can spare to put into the coin banks.

Speaking of the Halloween Carnival , we will be having our first Carnival Planning Meeting on Sunday, September 23 rd following church service. This is a great opportunity to volunteer for our biggest community outreach event of the year. We need as many people as we can get. It is a lot of work to plan for this and it is a lot of fun too.

This looks like it’s going to be a great year. And, don’t forget to Go M.A.D.!!!

God Bless. Amber George

New Study on Sunday Morning

Randy will begin a new study on the book of Thessalonians.  This delightful doctrine instructs believers in what to do while we wait for the return of Jesus Christ(1:10).  Thessalonians also provides tremendous insight into many aspects of the second coming of Christ and provides keys in how to continue living for God even in difficult times.  Please join us in our new adventure of understanding and living Thessalonians. Sundays 9:00 beginning September 16th.
