Encouraging Words
by Pastor Dave
Let’s “Go M.A.D”!! Our new vision for our church is to go and “Make a Difference” in the lives of those around us and in the community. A big “thank you” to all who signed up to help with the Reyes Adobe Project on Saturday, October 13 th. The city has already told us how thankful they are that we are helping out!!
The key to making a difference in the lives of others and in our own community is having the right attitude. Paul gives us that attitude in the book of Philippians…
- Philippians 2:4 Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.
As we move through the month of October and into the months of November and December, you will continue to see opportunities to reach out and help others. Someone wrote the following statement that sums up our reason to reach out and help others…
- “Christ did not come into our live just to make us better but also to give us the power to make the world a better place through our ministry and service to others.”
Marion Patillo, Executive Director of an outreach ministry in Dallas says, “Most churches are about ‘serve us’ rather than ‘service’!” My hope is that as individuals, and as a church, we will feel the call to look not only to our own interests but to the interests of others. It will take time, sacrifice and a willing heart but the result is a joyful heart as we serve our Loving God and His kingdom!
May God Shower You with All Blessings in Christ, Pastor Dave

Joe Grana—Guest Speaker on Sunday October 14
Joe had been our guest speaker many times in the past and is always well-received. He is a professor at Hope International University and has first-hand knowledge of how churches can become more outward focused. You won’t want to miss his message. Holiday Boutique
CCH will be having another holiday boutique on Saturday and Sunday, November 10 & 11th . Pat Henkel is signing up vendors at this time. She needs to know by October 12th if anyone wishes to have a table at the boutique. There are information flyers on the bulletin board in the hallway.
Plan to be here on the 10th or 11th to shop in the boutique!

Day of Prayer
Our prayer day last week was a great time of reflection and quiet prayer!! So much so, we are offering it again this Saturday, October 6th from 9:00—1:00. We wanted to give everyone an opportunity to have that experience of one-on-one with the Lord. You can stop by anytime during those four hours. The stations are still set up and you can take as long as you’d like visiting each table. Call Chris if you have any questions 917-3289.
After-Church Lunch
Join us on Sunday, October 14th as we have lunch together in a local restaurant. We usually go to Angel Café in Agoura, but are looking into another possibility this month. Set the time aside to have lunch with your fellow church friends. We will have more details this weekend.

Go Make aDifference!!!
