Youth News
By Brett Ryan I'd like to say I had a great time at the National Youth Convention in San Diego. It gave me lots of great ideas how to improve my ministry and to plan for future events further in advance. Thank you to CCH for the opportunity to go and be refreshed. Another "Thank You" to all of those who threw pies at me at the Halloween Carnival! Nothing says "You're doing a great job, Brett!" like a pie in the face! I hope you all had as good of a time as I did! Thanks to Amber for a great night out!
Also, thanks to all the youth who came and handed out the Halloween cards at Vons and Ralphs. You guys are bold for the Lord!!!!!
I also want to thank all of you parents for giving me the dates your children can participate in upcoming events!
With all that said, here are the upcoming events:
*November 4th* (THIS SUNDAY!) - the youth are invited to join me and the CCH staff as we minister to the seniors at the Agoura Senior Retreat. I will be giving a 10 minute message on the blessings of being a senior citizen. I hope you’ll all plan to come along as well!
*November 7th*- I bought an awesome DVD at the Youth Conference I was at and I want to share with all of you so
. . . DON'T MISS YOUTH GROUP on this date!!!!!!!
*November 21st* - We will not be meeting due to Thanksgiving the next day, however, I do want to know what you are all thankful for that Sunday, November 25th.
*November 28^th* - The youth was going to go out for a bowling night, but I have just been informed that the Church as a whole will be doing "The Hanging of the Greens" that night along with a pizza party and Christmas music. Woo-hoo!
—We will reschedule our bowling night.
*November 30th*- We're mailing a package to Scott (Randy's son) who is stationed in Iraq so please bring letters of encouragement!
*Saturday, December 1st* is our "Santa Comes To Agoura" event so please be considering a gift or two for those less fortunate.
The "Go Kart" event is going to have to be rescheduled and I will let all of you know when.
*December 26th*- We will not be meeting.
*January 25-28* - The winter Mammoth high school retreat will be Jan. 25-28. Details will be coming out soon.
*February 8-10th* Jr. High Winter Camp at Angeles Crest Christian Camp.
May the Lord bless you all!
Pins and Needles
Do you like to knit, sew or crochet? We are creating a new group that will begin by meeting once-a-month on a Thursday night. The first meeting will be in January (giving us a chance to get through the holidays first). Let’s get together over coffee and dessert and discuss what projects we might be able to make that we can donate to an organization that reaches out to people…ideas suggested are baby blankets for Women’s Resource Center or Battered Women’s Home; caps and scarves for the soldiers in Iraq; or soft caps for cancer patients.
We would pick one organization each quarter and work on the projects at home, getting together once-a-month to share our ideas, help each other out, and come up with new ideas for the next quarter. No pressure! Please plan to come and share some thoughts and ideas in January. |

First and foremost, now that the Halloween Carnival has come and gone I must say a HUGE thank you to everyone that volunteered and contributed to the success of the carnival. Thank you to everyone who contributed with the coin bank fundraiser, to those who donated pumpkins and candy and other donations. Also, thank you so much to all those who volunteered at the carnival and at set-up. The carnival could not have happened without all of your help. I am so thankful for all of you. I can’t say enough about all the hard work you all put in. Thank you all for going M.A.D for Halloween!
Also, an announcement regarding Sunday School. Because of everyone’s crazy schedule we will be going back to a K-5 th grade class for the time being. We will try the K-3 rd and 4 th -5 th grade class spilt again after the New Year when everyone’s schedule calms down .Until then, the K-5 th class will continue its series on Jesus’ Life.
On Sunday, November 4 th we will be attending the Agoura Hills Senior Retreat for a Senior Sunday Celebration. I would love to have all the kids there to hang out, talk, play games and tell stories with the seniors. This is a real rewarding experience for all involved.
Since we are in the month of giving thanks the kids will be preparing this month to perform at the All Church Thanksgiving Dinner on Sunday, November 18 th . The kids will be expressing all the things they are thankful for. I know it will be a great performance! Parents, please make sure your kids are at church on Sundays to practice.
Attention all Pathfinders! The Mix will be cancelled on Wednesday, November 21st for Thanksgiving vacation. But, we will be back in full force the next week, November 28 th for a pizza party and The Hanging of the Greens. Be a part of making the church beautiful for Christmas.
And finally, mark your calendars… the Pathfinders will be going to Mountasia on Sunday, December 2nd after church. Look for more info to follow.
