Pins and Needles
Do you like to knit, sew or crochet? Do you want to learn how? We are creating a new group that will begin by meeting once-a-month on a Thursday night. The first meeting will be in January (giving us a chance to get through the holidays first). Let’s get together over coffee and dessert and discuss what projects we might be able to make that we can donate to an organization that reaches out to people…ideas suggested are baby blankets for Women’s Resource Center or Battered Women’s Home; caps and scarves for the soldiers in Iraq; or soft caps for cancer patients. Watch the January newsletter for dates and times.

Sympathy
Our sincere love and sympathy are extended to Floyd Bennett and his family — children: Lisa, Steven and Gene, their spouses and the 6 grandchildren. Berniece passed away on Sunday, November 11th. Berniece was a member here for 28 years, actively involved and loved. We know she is with our Lord now, suffering no longer from her cancer.
Sadly we also extend our sympathy to Loretta Hicks and family (children Renee and Scott and granddaughter Jackie) on the passing of Loretta’s husband, Jack . Pastor Dave was able to minister with Jack during his last days and we rejoice with the family that he is in heaven with our Lord. Jack passed away after a brief bout with lung cancer on Thursday, November 14th.

Kids Korner

It is Christmas time and I am so excited. We have so much that we are doing in this month of December.
First, we will be celebrating the entire reason for this season, the birth of Jesus, with a very special Christmas Party at the Wednesday night Mix on December 19th. We will be celebrating with the Youth Group and the Adult Bible Study with food and gifts and music. It is sure to be a great time.
On Sunday, December 2 nd the kids will finally be going on our postponed trip to Mountasia for mini golf, laser tag, video games, you name it. We will be leaving right after church on Sunday and return to church at 4:00 p.m. Please include money for lunch.
We also have lots of opportunities to Go M.A.D. this month and I want all the kids to get involved.
First, this Saturday, December 1 st we will all be participating in Santa Comes To Agoura. We have been collecting peanut butter and jelly all month to help with the annual project and they need us on Saturday to sort all the food and distribute bags to families in need throughout our community. Also, our own Amanda Miuccio will be praying at the event and we are so excited for her. Come be part of this great annual event.
And, on December 15 th and 16 th CCH will be having our Go M.A.D. weekend.
On Saturday the 15 th we will have a free community gift wrap at the Westlake Promenade from 3:00-6:00 p.m. This is a great and easy way for the kids to get involved, so be sure to sign up this Sunday.
And, on Sunday the 16 th we will be returning to the Agoura Hills Senior Retreat to sing Christmas carols with the residents. This is just another way for us to Go M.A.D. for our community. Let’s all get involved this Christmas season.
On Sunday, December 23rd we will be having a special family church service so kids will be staying in the service as Sunday School classes will be canceled. The Wiggle room will be available for preschool children and their parents to use during the service.
Last, The Mix on Wednesday, December 26th will be cancelled due to Christmas vacation. I hope everyone has a great and safe holiday vacation. Merry Christmas everyone!
