Kids Korner

Happy New Year everyone! It’s 2008 and I am so excited for all the amazing things we have coming up this year. But, I do want to look back at 2007 and just thank all of the amazing teachers and the wonderful volunteers that made the Children’s Ministry a great place to be this past year. Thank you everyone. I couldn’t do anything without you.

Now it’s the New Year and we have started our new quarter of curriculum. This quarter the kids will continue learning about Jesus’ life and ministry. We’ll focuse on “Amazing Words”. Here is a description from the DiscipleLand website… “Children will see Jesus heal the sick and care for others as He teaches about God's Kingdom. Kids will be convinced as never before that Jesus Christ is God. They'll allow Christ's life to change their own as they deepen their love for Him”. Parents, ask the kids what they have been learning and help them work on their handouts that they bring home everyone Sunday. Who knows… you might even learn a new Bible lesson.

And, since the first one was such a hit, we are bringing back Family Game Night on Saturday, January 19th. Once again the church will be totally rearranged to make way for some really fun games and some yummy food. The last one was a ton of fun and I know this one will be too. Don’t miss it. And kids… invite your friends.

Everyone keep your eyes open at the end of this month when the Children’s ministry starts their Valentine’s Candy fundraiser. Sign-ups will begin the last week of January and candy will be ready to pick up on Sunday, February 10 th.

Also, I want to thank everyone for their participation in CCH’s Go M.A.D. campaign in 2007. We are getting out into our community and showing God’s love for others and really Making A Difference. We had some great events in December at the Senior Center and Gift Wrapping among others. And, we are getting started in 2008 with the Bilingual service on Sunday, January 6 th. We are reaching out to even more people in our community with this Go M.A.D. event and I am so excited to see how we can make a difference in the Spanish speaking community.

Everyone keep your eyes open for more Children’s events, great Sunday services and Go M.A.D. events in 2008! It is sure to be a great year!

Welcome to the Prieger family who placed their membership on Sunday, December 9th. The family is not new to CCH and has been very involved since first attending. Melanie plays the piano a couple of times a month in the service—blessing us with her wonderful talent. Jim sings in the worship team and helps with the slides, and was recently voted in as an elder for the next 3 years. Their children, Jenna and Alex, are actively part of our children’s ministry.

We are very pleased to welcome you all to the family here at CCH!
