Family Valentine Dinner

Sunday, February 10, at 6:00 p.m.  

• Includes : Dinner —catered in Chinese food
• Games — Not-so Newlywed Game (4 couples)

It’s going to be a lot of fun.   Invite your friends… the cost is $10 per adult, $5 for kids over 10 years and children are free. Sign ups needed — pre-pay preferred.

Ladies Luncheon

Saturday, February 23rd at 11:00

At: MaryAnn Cossentine’s home

This potluck luncheon is open for all women ! There is a sign up sheet in the lobby at the church.

Part of the luncheon will be to hear briefly from Michele Reithmayr of the Women’s Resource Center in Thousand Oaks. She will update us on their ministry to women in crisis pregnancy situations and their other outreaches.

Also during the luncheon, we’ll find out who had whom for their 2007 Secret Sisters … and give all women an opportunity to join Secret Sisters for 2008. If you were a SS in 2007, you may wish to bring a little thank you for your “secret” sister.

Men’s Retreat ‘08

Be challenged in leadership, service, mission, personal study and life, at Angeles Crest Christian Camp, April 25-27th! Ron Galleher is the guest speaker. The cost is $99 per person. Registration will begin in March.

Women’s Tea at the Huntington Gardens

Save the date (and some money) for this incredible day! The gardens are gorgeous and the tea is wonderful. The tea luncheon is buffet style and there will be ample time to roam the gardens. Saturday, April 26th. The cost is $20 to enter the Garden and $25 for the Tea. Sign ups will begin in April. The Huntington is in the Pasadena area, San Marino.

April 19th -- Save the date and the “gently used” items to sell. NO storage at CCH please. Proceeds to the Wellness Center in WLV in honor of Berniece Bennett—who was also one of their founders.

Everyone is welcome!

We are making baby blankets to donate to the Women’s Resource Center in Thousand Oaks to be given to women in crisis pregnancies. They are thrilled that we are helping out!

If you can, bring your project with you to work on. The meetings will help us keep on target for March 31st and to help each other with any teaching needed. Lori has some easy crochet patterns if you want one.

Dear CCH Family,

Well, January is now behind us and we’re in full swing for 2008! I hope you are enjoying the new sermon series entitled, “THE HOPE OF HEAVEN ” on Sunday mornings. This is an important series because there is so much misinformation regarding the subject of Heaven and what happens in the afterlife. Many of you have commented on how interesting the subject matter is and I’m glad that these sermons have given you some new things to think about.

My prayer is that your spiritual life will take on a new meaning after this study about the great future hope that is promised for those that follow Jesus Christ. We must always remember that God has promised us a wonderful future life in a new Heaven that is located on a new Earth. We will have glorious physical bodies that will live in a new earthly paradise while we live an active and fulfilling existence in the presence of our Heavenly Father. I am praying that the Holy Spirit will fill you with great joy as you consider the reward that awaits you as a son and daughter of the Almighty God!

As a reminder, don’t forget to sign up for our Family Valentine Dinner on February 10 th !! We have a fun program that is designed for the entire family and I know you’ll have a great time. Until then, keep following Jesus and let your good deeds bring great praise to our Heavenly Father!
