Mammoth 2008 high school winter trip was great, we had 3 kids go and 3 leaders. Numerous amounts of teenagers accepted Christ — and the snowboarding conditions were amazing. Along with a day of snowboarding and great worship and a great speaker.... and Playstation 3 and Rockband in the hotel rooms, this trip was a big success.
Special thanks to Doug Schafer and Kitty Lewis for making this trip possible with leader support and driving up to mammoth.
February 8-10 the Jr. High will be going on their winter retreat up at Angeles Crest Christian camp. This will be a great time for your student to engage in what God has for their lives and to meet other Christian teens, for more information see me.
A woman leader is needed for the Jr. High and High school ministry, must be able to participate in Wednesday night program and trips, please contact me for more information.

Kids Korner

It’s hard to believe that it is already February. This year is moving so quickly. And, we have lots planned this month. Since Valentine’s Day is this month we have put together some great things to help celebrate this day of love.
First, the children’s ministry has already begun their annual Valentine’s fundraiser “Sweets for your Sweetheart”. You can buy a large chocolate heart for $3, a bag of 5 small hearts for $1.25 or a heart lollipop for $1. The delicious chocolates will be on sale for only ONE MORE WEEK! Please have all orders in by Wednesday the 6 th . So, be ready to order this Sunday. All candy will be available to pick up on Sunday the 10 th .
And, speaking of Sunday the 10 th , we have our Family Valentine’s Dinner at 6 p.m. This is going to be a night full of entertainment. We have not one, but two special comedians performing that you won’t want to miss. We will also have a special performance by the staff, the return of the (not-so) Newlywed Game, a fantastic Chinese dinner and much more. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for kids 10 and older. Be ready to buy your tickets on Sunday. You won’t want to miss this.
Also, the Women’s ministry has started Pins and Needles as part of the Go M.A.D. campaign. The women will be making baby blankets that will be donated to the Women’s Resource Center. Any girls that would like to join us with their moms or grandmas are more than welcome. We would love to have you there and you can learn how to knit or crochet.
The Sunday school is continuing their lessons on Jesus’ life and I just want to again encourage parents to ask about what the kids are learning and help them with their worksheets that they bring home on Sunday. This will be rewarding for both students and parents.
And, just a quick FYI … I will not be at church service on Sunday the 10 th due to the fact that I will up at Angeles Crest with the JH/HS group for winter camp.
Musicians Needed
The worship band is needing people who have some instrumental talents. If you would like to help with the music on Sunday mornings from time to time, please see Duane or write on your welcome card (email is great too). You do not have to be “great”, just able to play along and help enhance the music. Please don’t hesitate to step forward, we need more musicians!!
Make a joyful noise unto the Lord! Psalm 98:4
